Kajsa was assigned the mission to develop a concept that could express the Southern Sweden Design scene internationally. Including selecting designers, curate and make the exhibition architecture for a show that could be set up in various location starting with DDW17.
What’s your DNA? is an exhibition showcasing 9 design studios in various fields that all are working from the same region in Southern Sweden. It aims to portray the local growing atmosphere around contemporary art and design in Skåne (southern sweden). The group as a whole is a mix of different disciplines within design; fashion, jewellery, glass design, industrial design, product and furniture design. To show a variety of work when it comes to different input, profiles, perspective, techniques, materials, genres and taste. All of which are presented under a joint venture that values the particularity of each work. In an endeavour to show the voice, desires and efforts of some of the best individual designers and studios working in Southern Sweden right now. This exhibition highlights the mix and rewards the different. And brings forward a group made up by diverse personalities and genres forming a larger regional identity – the Souther Sweden design DNA of Skåne. This is people that create their own possibilities by being bold, single-minded and true to themselves with an underdog perspective that everything is possible.
